Previously, when you owned a Youtube channel, you would have a rather long link, making it difficult to share the channel with others. Recently, the Youtube team has announced that it will release a feature to create a shortened username in the form of @username like Facebook, Tiktok to make it easier to track and manage accounts.
If you have multiple Youtube channels, corresponding multiple URLs to take viewers to the main page of the channel.
Youtube username based on channel identifier
For example: youtube.com/channel/UCUZHFZ9jIKrLroW8LcyJEQQ
This is the standard Username that YouTube channels currently use. Traditional usernames consist of numbers and letters at the end of the URL, which is very long and impossible to remember on its own.
Find your YouTube channel username
To find the channel’s URL:
- Log into YouTube Studio.
- On the left menu, select Tuomg chdepend onNh -> Information ceh bhern.
- In the URL section of your channel, you can view and copy your channel URL.
Short custom Youtube channel username
In the coming weeks, Youtube will roll out a username selector feature for all channels and once you have permission to use this feature you will receive an email and a notification from YouTube Studio. If you already have a personalized URL for your channel (of the form @username), it will be kept as your username. But if you want a different username than the one from the personalized URL, you can change the name. If you don’t have a personalized URL yet, you can choose a username for your channel.

A custom URL is a shorter and easier to remember URL. These URLs can be based on your current display name, old username, or a verified and linked website domain.
From November 14, 2022, if you haven’t selected a Username for your channel, YouTube will automatically assign you a username and you can change it in YouTube Studio if you want.
