Killercoda is an interactive learning platform that allows anyone to access Terminal Linux in a browser. Everyone can use Terminal for Linux operating systems for free here. Taking advantage of resources from Killercoda, Mr. Shanghai has built a number of Linux operating systems with interfaces for you to use like a real VPS. The author of “Shanghai” is also the one who has given some creative directions VPS using Github before.
Use a Linux VPS with a free interface from Killercoda
To use Linux VPSs with interfaces from Killercoda, you can use the Dockers created by Uncle Shanghai. Usually each VPS will last about 60 minutes. I have a speed test with Speddtest on Kali Linux, about 160Mbps, quite stable for those who like Download / Upload.
The way to control VPS here is also quite simple, you can operate it completely on your browser.
To create VPS from Killercoda, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Visit the page by Shanghai uncle’s link
Step 2: Select the Operating System you want to create. For example, I will choose Kali Linux noVNC, ie VPS will use Kali Linux operating system, remote using the noVNC function. In addition, you can choose operating systems such as: Arch, Centos 7, Parrot OS, Ubuntu 16, 18, 20, 22…
Step 3: After choosing the operating system for VPS, you wait a bit for the setup process to be completed. After docker is finished loading, you will get Remote information to your VPS.
Step 4: To Remotely access the VPS with noVNC, look at the left panel, select the Start button
In the next window, click on the line ACCESS NOVNCto take to the noVNC login page. Press the button Connect.
The default password for no-VNC is: password
You have a total of 60 minutes to use VPS via noVNC
To set your VPS in Size mode in noVNC: Setting -> Scaling mode -> Remote resizing
This is the speed I tried in Kali Linux’s VPS, it’s quite good to test the Tool for 1 hour. Download 170 Mbps, Upload 258 Mbps.
Note: VPS should only be used for learning and research purposes, not using VPS for illegal acts such as using Tool Hack, malware, otherwise Killercoda will fix this feature and we There will be no more free VPS. Currently, very few Websites offer free VPS in this way.
