Ukraine’s chief peace negotiator Mikhailo Podoljak said today that any deals with Russia cannot be credible because they have no value.
“Any Russia Not worth a dime,” said Presidential adviser Podoljak Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, wrote on the messaging app Telegram. “Is it possible to negotiate with a country that only knows propaganda and lies?”

Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other after peace talks stalled since late March. The Kremlin said earlier this month that Ukraine was unwilling to continue peace talks, while officials in Kyiv blamed Moscow for the failure of the talks.
President Zelensky said earlier this week that President Vladimir Putin was the only Russian official he was willing to meet to discuss ending the conflict.
Russia launched a special military operation on February 24 to “demilitarize and defascize Ukraine”. More than three months later, Russian troops are said to have been planning a slow but firm move deeper into the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine after they were said to have withdrawn from the country’s central and northern regions.
The British Ministry of Defence said on May 23 that Russian troops were stepping up their offensive in an attempt to surround Severo-Donetsk, Lushansk and Rubizhny to control the entire Luhansk province east of Ukraine. The agency assessed that Ukrainian forces continued to remain strongly defensive, but that Russian forces had “made some small progress” in the region.
