The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed two ammunition depots and killed more than 100 Russian soldiers during fighting in the southern province of Kherson.
“The fire on the main transport route in the occupied territories impassable the traffic through the Dnieper railway bridge,” said Army Southern Combat Command Ukraine issued a statement today, adding that more than 100 soldiers Russia Killed and destroyed 7 tanks during the fighting in Kherson province.
Yuri Sobolevsky, deputy chairman of the Kherson provincial council, asked residents to stay away from Russian ammunition depots. “The Ukrainian army is focusing on attacking the Russian army and this is just the starting point,” he said.

Russian-appointed Kherson provincial government officials have previously rejected assessments by Ukrainian and Western governments.
The British Ministry of Defence said the Russian military may be deploying two temporary bridges and a ferry system to transport troops to fill the void created by the destroyed bridges in the area.
Fighting between Russian and Ukrainian troops in the southern region has recently escalated. The Ukrainian army has repeatedly claimed to have attacked Russian ammunition depots and headquarters in Kherson province with US-supplied HIMARS rockets. Meanwhile, Russia fired missiles at Ukrainian positions along the coast. However, the areas controlled by both parties are considered to have changed little.

Russia has taken control of Kherson province since March and has taken many steps to strengthen its presence, such as Russian TV coverage, making the ruble the official currency and simplifying the citizenship process for residents. On July 24, the Russian-appointed Kherson government announced the establishment of the Russian annexation referendum committee.
