In part #1, I took a look at 5 promising technologies that have had a significant impact on the trend of developing mobile applications!
If you haven’t read part 1, you can check it out here: TOP 10 mobile application development trends in the future part #1
In this part 2, I will continue to introduce to you 5 more technologies that you may not have heard of, but it also has a significant impact on the current trend of developing mobile applications.
#6. Blockchain
Along with names like 5G, AI, Machine Learning & BigData, Blockchain is also an emerging technology in recent years.
But when asked about this technology, it is often difficult for most people to explain or understand blockchain exactly compared to other technologies.
So what is blockchain? And what effect does it have on developing mobile apps?
Blockchain is designed around the idea of distributed ledger technology, it is programmed to record and track values.
These values can be information about: Financial transactions, medical records, real estate ownership …
If the traditional method of recording is data-centric, blockchain is geared towards data decentralization. The way blockchain works is considered a revolution in data recording, security and storage.
There are 3 main characteristics that make blockchain technology different: Decentralization, create trust in data and Direct interaction without intermediaries.
Those are the most basic characteristics of blockchain. So how does blockchain technology affect the trend of developing mobile applications?
Can traditional secure banking applications be replaced by blockchain-based data storage applications? I think yes but not now, it could take decades for us to gradually transition.
#7. Chatbots
When talking about Chatbots, I believe many of you will think of automatic message reply products. Is it true?!
I do not deny that, because it is clear that in Vietnam in particular, such chatbots are “enough to use”.
But if you dig deeper, you will see that chatbots, if smart enough and set up properly, will bring a lot of other benefits and features.
For example, virtual assistants on mobile devices are essentially a form of bot, but instead of receiving text information like chatbots, it receives audio information.
In the future, when the AI technology and Machine Learning More developed than I believe chatbots products will be significantly improved.
There are some statistics about the use of chatbots as follows:
+) Cut about 30% of selling costs.
+) 50% of businesses would rather invest in chatbots than a mobile app for their product.
+) Chatbots are about 37% more responsive than humans (for the same service industry).
+) Feedback anytime, anywhere, 24/7 operation..
….
With such advantages, it is clear that chatbots are a perfect tool if integrated into mobile applications (as a way to support customers).
#8. Mobile Games
Game, especially Mobile Game is probably too familiar to young people today. It is a spiritual food that is sometimes indispensable for many people.
Today, with the improvement in performance and design of mobile devices, many heavy games are now playable on mobile devices.
According to a statistic from SensorTower, by 2025, about 42% of App Store revenue (APPLE’s app store) and about 71% of Google Play (Google’s app store) revenue will come from Mobile Games.
Not stopping there, there are now many game ideas that apply new technologies such as (AR – Augmented Reality or AI – Artifical Intelligence) to bring new and interesting experiences to players.
Therefore, it can be said that the mobile game industry has a lot of promise when it inherits many advantages from the development of technology.
#9. Mobile Commerce
Mobile Commerce or M-Commerce for short is a trend of E-Commerce (e-commerce) in recent years.
For those of you who do not know, e-commerce is a business model that allows companies and individuals to buy and sell products and services through electronic systems (internet, personal computer networks, etc.) deployed as e-commerce websites.
But with the rapid development of smart mobile devices, users are increasingly turning to mobile applications instead of traditional websites as before.
They just need to open the phone, click on the app and select the desired product or service, and they can buy, sell or use it.
Not only that, the payment method when using mobile applications is also much more flexible than accessing websites.
Some 2019 statistics prove how popular M-Commerce is.
- 43% of businesses have allowed shoppers to complete the entire shopping process on a mobile device.
- 31% have implemented promotions specifically for customers using mobile devices.
- 5% of businesses receive orders via mobile sales applications.
So without any further discussion, I believe that in the not too distant future, it is inevitable that mobile commerce (M-Commerce) products account for the majority of sales activities.
#ten. Mobile APP Security
Information security has always been a burning issue not only with mobile devices, but also with most platforms that use the Internet.
Today, with the advent of many applications that require high security such as e-wallets and banking applications, security requirements are even more focused.
According to Kaspersky – a well-known Russian security software manufacturer and distributor, the rate of malicious code attacks on financial products such as banking applications in Vietnam increased by about 46.9% in the year. 2020 to 2021
Compared to many countries in the region, although this number is not high, it is clearly alarming about the security status of mobile applications in Vietnam.
We all know that the way hackers attack is more diverse and sophisticated, so if we are not serious about security, our users will have to pay a very expensive price.
For example, there are many cases of money being scammed when hackers send fake links, or hackers take over bank accounts thanks to users’ personal information.
Therefore, ensuring safety and security for mobile applications will increasingly require developers to pay more attention in the coming time.
Epilogue: So in this part 2, I have gone through 5 more technologies with you that greatly influence the development trend of mobile applications. Hope this article will provide you with more useful reference information.
See you in the next posts!
