Sometimes when using the computer, you will have the need to want the computer screen to stay on or not to fall into Sleep mode, for example when downloading torrent files without having to set up in Settings. This article will introduce you to little solutions very quickly.
Using Awake in PowerToys
This is the way I am using it because I also use many other features in the toolkit PowerToys. Awake is a utility tool for Windows designed to keep your computer running and screen on, without having to tweak power and sleep settings. This feature is especially useful when running time-consuming tasks, ensuring that the computer does not go to sleep or turn off the screen.
Awake does not modify any Windows Power installer package settings and does not depend on custom power pack configurations. Instead, it creates background threads that tell Windows that they require a specific state of the machine.
Do you ever find yourself downloading a large file on your computer, only to come back later and find that the download failed because your computer automatically went to Sleep?
KeepOn is the perfect app for you. KeepOn not only allows you to temporarily disable sleep and hibernation, but it also allows you to do so quickly right from the application icon on the taskbar.
Caffeine – Keep Awake
Here’s a Chrome extension you might need when:
- You’re downloading a file and you don’t want your internet connection to be interrupted.
- You won’t touch the mouse pad for a while, but you need to use the screen during the presentation.
- You’re reading an e-book or PDF and you don’t want the screen to dim.
- You want to keep the computer running temporarily without changing the operating system’s settings.
Keep Awake for Edge
An extension for Microsoft Edge. Keep Awake for Edge will help prevent the computer screen from turning off so as not to interrupt the content you are viewing on Microsoft Edge.
This extension is suitable when you watch movies, news don’t move the mouse to avoid turning off the screen.
The most basic way from installing software
If you are afraid to install software, you can still use the most basic way, here I show you the quick operation as follows:
Step 1: Press the key combination Windows + WILL, knock on Edit Power plan > choose option Edit power plan.
Step 2: Click on the item next to Turn off the display > select Never.
So the screen will always be on, note that if you don’t want the device to go to Sleep, choose Never in section Put the computer to sleep.
