Russia’s Smerch (Hurricane) rocket artillery complex fired a series of rockets to destroy the positions of Ukrainian weapons and ammunition.
“Intelligence report says armed forces Ukraine Concentrate ammunition, military equipment and weapons in one area to supply its troops.Information Confirmed by Technical Reconnaissance Equipment”, Department of Defense Russia Reported on June 13.
“The BM-30 Smerch (Storm) rocket artillery unit was tasked with firing rockets to destroy the ammunition depot,” the agency said, without specifying the location of the attack.
Russia has released a video of military personnel placing a Smerch rocket in launch position and making adjustments. The Smerch complex then launched a salvo, at least one rocket hit the target, causing a large explosion. Crews at the Smerch complex then withdrew their weapons and evacuated the area to avoid counterattacks.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its artillery and missile units have raided 247 positions of personnel and equipment in Ukraine, including 13 command posts, 63 artillery deployment points, seven artillery positions and an electronic warfare station.
Ukraine did not comment on the information from the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russia launched a special military operation on February 24 to “demilitarize and de-fascize Ukraine”. More than 100 days later, the fighting took place mainly in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine, where Russian firepower is considered to have the upper hand.
The BM-30 Smerch 300mm heavy rocket launcher was developed by the Soviet Union in the 1980s to destroy enemy fortifications, armored vehicles, command posts, artillery positions and ammunition depots. Each Smerch complex has 12 launchers loaded with ammunition, weighs about 800 kg, is 7.6 m long and has a range of 20-90 km, depending on the type.
