BrazilTwo paratroopers entangled with each other in Rio de Janeiro and fell to the ground from an altitude of more than 100 meters, killing one person and seriously wounding the other.
The accident happened when two paratroopers, Nascimento de Sousa and Francisco Damio Vieira Neto, participated in a civilian parachuting event in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil November 13th.
A video released by the US media last weekend showed that when the parachute was controlled at an altitude of more than 100 meters, one of the two seemed to lose control and was entangled by the other’s parachute.
The incident caused Suza and Neto’s parachutes to roll each other, completely losing lift, causing the two to fall freely to the ground. Suza could not survive, and Neto was seriously injured and hospitalized.
The paratrooper camp where Souza works said that the parachute jump he participated in was organized by the civil organization Resende Parachute Club. The unit has expressed condolences to Suza’s family.
It is not clear whether the Brazilian authorities are investigating the accident.
