What is SMB?
SMB is a fairly common file sharing protocol when you use Windows. Almost by default when using Windows 7/8/10 platforms when sharing files, you will touch this protocol. … SMB is also known as CIFS (short for Common Internet File Sharing), a popular file sharing system on the Internet.
In other words, SMB is a protocol that allows client applications in a computer to read and write files and request services from server programs in a computer network that will operate for you see.
The error screen shows that the computer cannot access the file share
Scanning in Toshiba copiers is different from Scanning in Ricoh copiers. At Toshiba copiers, there is a default shared folder called File Share. The developers of Toshiba have set up that folder to hold the user’s Scan files. However, they have added a security mode that makes it impossible for some incompatible computers to access this File Share folder.

How to fix the error that the computer cannot access the shared file in Toshiba copiers
From Windows 10 1709 and later, for security reasons, the network protocol SMBv1 (Server Message Block version 1 ) will not be installed by default (SMBv1 is not installed by default). So if you install data sharing over LAN and you still can’t access the NAS (Network-Attached Storage), only see the Windows 10 computer and don’t see the other computers shared on the LAN, or If you do not see computers running Linux operating system, then you follow the instructions below of our mai Hoang.
Enable SMBv1 protocol on Windows 10
- Open Control Panel.
- Click on Programs.
- Click on Turn Windows features on or off

4. Open SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support options.
5. Check in SMB 1.0/CIFS Client option

6. Click OK.
7. Click Restart now.
Edit Registry
In some cases, after installing SMBv1 but only seeing shared computers in the LAN but still getting an error not allowing access (error code: 0x80070035), you do additional steps to edit the registry as follows:
Note: if you are not careful editing the registry will affect the system, so you should back up before editing, and you must open the registry with admin rights to edit it.
Access the registry by following the path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters]
Then edit the values as follows:
“EnablePlainTextPassword”=dword:00000000
“EnableSecuritySignature”=dword:00000001
“RequireSecuritySignature”=dword:00000001
“AllowInsecureGuestAuth”=dword:00000001
Once done, restart your computer and try to see if you can access it or not. Good luck. If it still doesn’t work, continue with the following steps:
You need to visit the Toshiba copier configuration website
Step 1: You should use the Enternet Explorer browser to type the IP address of the copier, other machines, and get a typical example.

Step 2: You select the Administrator Tab, enter the default account
User Name: Admin
Pass:123456 (Default Pass)

Step 3: You select Tab Administrator->Go to Network section

Step 4: Select SMB Session->Tick 2 items: Digital Singature isn’t done for the communication for the Serser And Digital Singature isn’t done for the communication for the Client.

Step 5: You choose Apply->Save. The machine will display the message Wait a minute…Then restart the computer
Now you can access the File Share folder normally.
