In Word sometimes we want to change the presentation to create emphasis, you can choose to divide the text into different columns. The Word software suite is very powerful in terms of editing, aligning and presenting different paragraphs of text. So you can split text into 2 or more columns directly in Word software, in this article Computer Tips will show you how to split text into 2, multiple columns.
With this way of separating text in Word, you can do the same on all different Word versions such as: Word 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019.
Step 1: After you have finished the text, you choose the item Layout on the toolbar of the Word software.
Step 2: Then you choose the part Columns, here you have 2 parts as follows:
- Available column split modes:
- One: 01 Column (Default)
- Two: 02 Columns
- Three: 03 Columns
- Left: 02 columns but the left column is smaller than the right column
- Right: 02 columns but the right column is smaller than the left column
- More Columns…: Column split option.
Step 3: If you choose (2) More Columns Then you will need to set the following:
- Number of Columns: Number of columns you want to divide
After you enter the number of columns to be divided, you press OK Let Word automatically split the default column.
Step 4: This is our result, Computer Tips selects 5 columns, so the text will automatically be divided into 5 equal columns.
Step 5: If you are not satisfied with the column size of Word, you can customize it in the settings Columns.
Layout -> Columns -> Width and Spacing
Here you can adjust the column size (Width) and the spacing between columns (Spacing). After setting is complete, press OK to save.
Step 6: And this is the result after we adjust the column size and spacing of the columns.
