DuckDuckGo, known for its secure browser that doesn’t track users, is now launching an Email Protection service to prevent advertising companies from tracking your emails and inboxes. In addition to protecting privacy and being less tracked by ads, DuckDuckGo Email also provides a new Email address for you to use: @duck.com
DuckDuckGo Launches Email Protection
Currently, most Emails from companies and stores have tracking codes attached to track the behavior of Mail recipients, to see if the mail has been read? At any time, in addition, there are also some Javascript that silently collect mail reader activities to analyze the needs of online marketing.
DuckDuckGo launches a secure Email service that helps you get rid of those tracking codes by doing the following:
- Provide an intermediate email with the extension @duck, for example: [email protected]
- When creating the @duck mail, you will be asked to enter your Primary Email. Example: [email protected]
- When providing email to a partner, you just need to give email [email protected], then all received Emails will be forwarded from [email protected] to [email protected]. In transit Duckduckgo has removed the user tracking codes for you.
In case of using @duck mail, you should apply it to forum sites with registered accounts or newspapers, e-commerce sites… then DuckDuckGo will protect you. Because it’s common for websites to publish your email address to Google and Facebook to target ads or get your email leaked. So DuckDuckGo will protect you from those risks.
After scanning and completely removing the tracking and analytics codes, DuckDuckGo will return Mail to the mailbox. DuckDuckGo does this so that you can sign up for and use any online service without being sent advertising messages or selling your private mailbox information.
DuckDuckGo also confirms that they never save any emails for any purpose. When the E mail Protection extension receives the mail, Duckduckgo will delete the trackers and send the mail to your personal email address, after sending you back a mail that has removed the tracker, the message’s information in the database will erase (including the Subject and Body of the message).
