How to Set a Sleep Timer in Apple Music (2022)

Many people, including you and me, have the habit of using music to hypnotize. However, once we fell asleep, the music continued to play throughout the night. So how do you set the music to turn off automatically when you fall asleep? Well, Apple Music Sleep Timer is all you need.

These are a number of ways to take advantage of this feature and its variants on platforms like Android to turn off the music while you sleep. In this post, we discuss some common methods you can use. Check it out.


1: Set a sleep timer with your iPhone

The Clock app on iPhone allows you to set a timer to stop playing music at set intervals. Please follow the steps below to complete:

Step 2: Now, choose the duration of the sleep timer. You can set it to turn off the music after 30 minutes; most people usually fall asleep quickly within 30 minutes of going to bed.

However, if you plan to be away for a few minutes or even hours, you can set the interval longer.

After you’ve set up the Apple Music sleep timer, you can go to the playlist and choose your favorite music. Now you can let the music soothe you to sleep. You never have to worry about the music playing all night while you sleep.

If you’re using an iPad instead of an iPhone, the process for setting a music sleep timer is the same. Just follow the steps highlighted above and you’re done.


2. Tell Siri to stop playing music

Another way to stop playing music after going to bed is to use Siri. Siri is an artificial intelligence system that uses voice commands to perform different tasks. If you want Siri to stop playing music after a given interval, you can say “Hi Siri, stop playing in half an hour”.

3: Use the Shortcuts app

download and install this third party application on your smartphone. Once done, follow these steps to set the sleep timer:

Step 2: Click on the icon labeled “Create personal automation” if you’ve never built an automation on your iPhone before. Otherwise, tap Create Personal Automation after tapping the plus (+) icon in the upper right corner.

Step 5: Types of”pause” in the search bar at the top. Now press play/pause (the one with the red play/pause icon).

Step 6: Click Play/Pause again and select Pause from the options at the bottom.

That’s it, your music sleep timer is all set and ready to go. The Shortcuts app turns off the music as soon as you fall asleep.


How to Set Up Timed Sleep on Mac

If you’re used to playing music on your Mac device before bed, follow these steps to set a sleep timer:

Step 3: At the bottom of the sidebar, select “schedule”.

After you set up a sleep schedule on your Mac device, you can continue to enjoy playing your favorite bedtime songs to put you to sleep. When the set time interval has elapsed, the Mac sleep timer will start playing music.


How to Set Up Automatic Sleep on Your Android Device

If you like listening to bedtime music on your Android device, you can use the sleep timer to turn off the music when you’re done sleeping. There are a lot of timer shutdown software on Google Play.

How to Set Up Timed Sleep on Windows

Timed sleep can also be set on Windows devices. This feature will come in handy if you like listening to music before bed. You don’t want to wake up to find your laptop exhausted because you’ve been playing music all night and didn’t really intend to.

To set up a timed sleep on a Windows PC, follow these steps:
