You already know how Use the default ZIP file compression and decompression feature on Windows not yet?
As in the previous post I shared with you is should compress file format *.zip to make it more convenient at work (if you haven’t seen that article, you can read it to know why).
But now I suddenly realized that there are no instructions on the blog on how to compress and decompress files with the default feature on Windows computers
So, this will be an additional article for you to know how to do it, I will do it on Windows 10 and Windows 11, older or newer versions, you can also apply the same thing. .

NOTE:
Highlight the folders/files to be compressed if you want to compress multiple files/folders.
Immediately, the folder will be compressed. So it’s done
Way 2. It’s also very simple, right-click on the folder to be compressed => then select Send to => then select the Compressed (zipped) folder feature
#2. How to extract files on Windows 10
In terms of decompression, it’s very simple, every version of Windows is the same. You right-click on the file you want to extract => then select Extract All….
Then select the folder you want to extract to.
#3. How to compress files on Windows 11 (*.ZIP)

Result:
Way 2. This method applies to all versions of Windows, and Windows 11 is no exception.
Right-click on the folder to be compressed => then select Send to => then select the Compressed (zipped) folder feature
#4. Epilogue
Okay, way use the default file compression and decompression feature on the computer Windows is very simple.
No need to install any software, you can still do it compress and decompress files in *.ZIP . format easily on Windows 10, 11 computers…
It’s simple to say, but I think it’s simple in case you have read through how to do it, and it takes a bit longer to figure out how to compress it yourself, because Microsoft hides this feature a bit carefully 🙂
Of course, you should still install a software that supports more professional file compression and decompression, for example WinRAR, 7-Zip… Hope this article will be useful to you, wish you success!
