A gunpowder depot exploded at a military base in Khabarovsk in Russia’s far east, killing one soldier and wounding seven others.
Russia’s Ministry of Health said today it used ambulance helicopters to transport two severely burned victims from a military base in the Tessin settlement in the Far East’s Khabarovsk region.

“According to preliminary information, careless handling of explosives may have caused the powder magazine to explode, and the exact cause will be determined during the investigation,” the source said.
According to the person, the base fire department and local firefighters put out the blaze.
The Tessin settlement is located 82 kilometers southeast of Komsomolsk on the Amur River in the Russian Far East. The settlement has a train station of the same name and a military base.
